In our newest feature, Show Me Yours & I’ll Show You Mine, we’ll be asking two people to each show us their own version of the same thing. This week, it’s all about photography. New Jersey photographer Rachel Martino and Michigan photographer Allie Osmar Siarto were each asked to show off a photo from their own portfolio that makes them smile whenever they see it.
Rachel, an international wedding and portrait photographer and self-proclaimed believer in fairy tales, chose this photo from her wedding portfolio. “What about this photo doesn’t make me laugh?” she says. Taken in Mexico during her brother-in-law and new sister-in-law’s wedding, she loves that it shows the true fun-loving spirit of the couple. “This is the two of them, every day. They bring out the best in each other, and they bring out the best in the people around them.”
Allie, a newlywed wedding and lifestyle photographer and complete dessert addict, chose this photo because it’s particularly meaningful for her. “After living in Chicago for four years and craving more nature, this perfect field with amazing golden light was a little slice of heaven,” she tells us. “It’s such a genuine moment. I love giving simple prompts to couples that let them get lost in the moment and forget that I’m there. Seriously – how cute are they?”
